    1. I came across the first book in this series Asterix the Gaul on “Guardians 1000 books to read before you die” list, liked it enough to give this, the second book a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, not just of the writing but also the graphic drawings. Goscinny wrote the first book around 1960, and even though he died in 1977, the series continues with the 37th edition published in 2017.

    2. Asterix busts open a sickle smuggling racket15 April 2012 Well, it turns out that the second Asterix book is actually really entertaining. It is a little difficult to compare them to Tintin though, especially since the first Tintin books appeared in the 1930s while it was not until the 1960s that the Asterix books began to appear. However, while it took a few albums for Herge to begin to set Tintin on the path that he was going to go, it appears that Asterix reached that position pretty quickly. [...]

    3. The second of Asterix's adventures! Asterix and Obelix go to Lutetia to try and get a new gold sickle for their Druid And they get into trouble with Romans and barbarians and a lot of gold sickle traffickers! Maria Carmo,Lisbon, 6 April 2015.

    5. A fun read, loved my introduction to Asterix, Obelix, Getafix, Cacofonix, Dogmatix "the only known canine ecologist", and Vitalstatistix. Also enjoyed learning new words like menhir - a giant boulder (Obelix is a menhir delivery man) and amphora, which is a great word for a bottle, and everything one might say about a bottle i.e. Asterix: "What a lot of traffic!" Obelix: "There must often be amphora-necks on fine days!"

    9. Village druid Getafix has a big problem. He's broken his golden sickle and can't harvest mistletoe for his potions. He's about to go to the annual conference of Gaulish druids. Asterix and his friend Obelix volunteer to make the journey to Lutetia (modern day Paris) to buy a new sickle from famed artisan Metallurgix. The trip is full of perils (wolves, bandits, Romans, bad puns, etc.). The city has even greater perils, as they discover a sickle-trafficking gang has kidnapped Metallurgix. Comedic [...]

    10. The name 'Clovogarlix' was enough to get me laughing and the references between the then and the now were quite clever (young woman on Asterix & Obelix return - 'They'll be able to us what's being worn in Lutetia this season").

    11. Boring, repetitive. Not funny, not entertaining at all. In this second adventure, Asterix and Obelix go out to find their village druid Getafix (Get A Fix) a new golden sickle as the druid breaks his old one and without the golden sickle the druid can't make the magic potion that gives Asterix superhuman strength. During the adventure, Asterix and Obelix kept coming across the same Roman legionaries who arrested them again and again to bring them before the Roman prefect. The prefect is too libe [...]

    12. Second comic book in the series so, I'm going in a wrong order.Interesting facts that I found: Cacofonix is the teacher of the village. Cacofonix hasn't given his usual tree spot - he is tied in a moonlit room during the feast which is visible through its doorway. Even in ancient times Paris is overcrowded with traffic.Metallurgix, the sickle-maker cousin to Obelix, is facially identical to Obelix.Asterix & Obelix keep getting arrested by the same patrol. The tour-guide recommends a night in [...]

    13. Getafix breaks his golden sickle just before the annual druid's conference. Asterix and Obelix offer to go to Lutetia to buy him another one so that he could cut the mistletoe properly for his potions. Once they reach Lutetia, they discover a gang of sickle smugglers operating a black market. Mayhem ensues as our intrepid Gauls take on bandits, wolves, Romans and black-marketeers. Favourite joke: "Amphora-neck" in Lutetia (referring to traffic bottlenecks)

    14. The plot settles in Paris (Lutetia) with the dynamic duo on a mission for a new sickle to the village's druid. Obviously, it turns out to be more troublesome than just some simple shopping. The bored and lazy prefect is one of the more interesting characters, and the story is fun although not hilarious. However, I always find Obelix's compulsive lust for violence somewhat morally questionable.

    17. Çocukluğumun kahramanlarından ikisi, Asteriks ve Obiriks. Hancının trakya şivesine bayıldım

    21. When Druid Getafix's golden sickle (used to cut mistletoe for magic potion) breaks Asterix and Obelix travel to Lutetia (modern day Paris) to get him a new one from Obelix's cousin, Metallurgix. When they arrive, Metallurgix is missing. While searching for him, they uncover a criminal golden sickle racket that involves the top leadership of Lutetia. The story is simple to follow, despite the many twists and turns. As the second Asterix book, you can see their trademark humour being developed wit [...]

    22. When the first comic left Obelix a bit too much out of the story (in my opinion), this comic made up for it.Asterix and Obelix must travel to Lutetia for Panoramix. It is fun too see them leave their little village already in the second volume. This way, the writer can show us that his series isn't meant to stay in one place only.In this volume, they show us lots of differences between a big city and a small town. Some features we still experience today, are shown in a very familiar way.The traff [...]

    23. Only ever so slightly better than the 1st episode, The Golden Sickle had slightly more plot and slightly better artwork, but still the jokes, the humour, the whole scenario really is quite woeful. If I had read these when I was a kid, I would've been only very mildly entertained. Call me a humourless pisse-froid if you like, but as an adult, this was quite painful to read. 2.75/5

Minkähän takia nämä on julkaistu aivan missä sattuu järjesteyksessä Suomessa?
