    1. The story line had potential. I'll give it that. There were two things, though, that I felt this novel lacked. Number 1: good research. I'm not an expert on the 1830s by any means, but the novel didn't transport me to that time period like a good historical novel does. The names especially were distracting. The children almost all had names that would be popular now, but were definitely not reminiscent of that time period. The second thing this novel needed was a good editor. There were several [...]


    2. This book held my attention and I actually was not able to predict the outcome until halfway through the book. Enjoyable.
