I found this a fascinating account of the author's travels through Sinai in 1979, in the interim between the signing of the final peace treaty and Israel's handing over of the entire peninsula back to Egypt. Although Bernstein did not travel extensively through Sinai, he was accompanied and guided on his first two trips by the knowledgeable Dr. Clinton Bailey. In my opinion, this fact adds a lot of credibility to the author's account. Bernstein's third trip was focused on visiting the U.N. buffe [...]
