    1. Whenever I first started reading The Impaler Legacy, I could immediately tell that I was in for a vampire epic. From the very beginning, I was swept up into this tale. Ioana Visan has a way with words that wraps you in her story, and you don't want to leave its pages. The attention that was paid to the paranormal parts of the story are very appreciated. It's so well thought out, and that really shows as you're reading it. The characters in this series encompass such a broad spectrum. I easily fo [...]

    2. Even though I liked it, I wasn't overly impressed neither with the story, nor with the writing.I cannot tell what didn't DO it for me - maybe the fact that I had high expectations to start with, maybe the fact that all the books were short enough not to leave room for more explanations I like my readings to be packed with (even not so important) details and inner thoughts, all those things that give depth to a story, that help you understand and, thus, connect with the characters.Nevertheless, a [...]

    3. One of the best reason I can think of about belonging to is that we sometimes come across books and authors who we might not otherwise get the opportunity to read. After a recommendation from a friend, I read Ioana Visan's first installment of the Impaler Legacy and within 2 weeks read all 3 books (plus all the minis). She has a blend of great characters and a well written story line that keeps you engrossed and wanting more (hint, hint Ioana!). I would highly recommend this Omnibus to anyone w [...]

    4. With all the books, movies and series out there, it seems like all vampire sagas have been done already. But you'd be wrong to think so. Writer Ioana Visan takes the common take on vampires, turns them around and spins a whole different kind of story. With the whole world being aware of vampires, she has the lead character Liana, living in the only vampire-free country, actually not only being very familiar with vampires, but also hating them through upbringing. Due to circumstances, she has to [...]

    5. This is the complete series of books in the Impaler Legacy. I must say I was surprised at the ending. I was hoping to have more on Maximilien and Almira. Other than wanting more on them and how they met the series was good. I don't like the council and the control they have. I love Jesse and I felt bad for Liviu and Radu. Radu because although he turned he loves his country and what they stand for. He stays loyal to the end and love Rodica and she love him. It's sad the country's laws will keep [...]

    6. When I was given "Impaler's Revenge" by Ioana Visan, I didn't expect to get caught up in Liana, Max and Jesse's journey, NEEDING to follow their journey through the remaining 6 books in the series. Make that 3 books, with 3 mini stories that tied into the main books. It was a brilliant decision by Ioana to add short stories, which give the reader a chance to see what happened between situations, doing this keeps readers engaged and not scrambling to figure out what, and where, everything changed [...]

    7. I was given these books in exchange for an honest review (Lop or Lovers of Paranormal). I liked the idea of a new breed of vampires and the council concept which made for an intriguing read. I felt both concepts were original, kudos to the writer for giving ‘vamps’ a new spin. Even though it was a well written book, the first book in the series the “Impaler legacy,” was hard for me to read. I was initially very excited to find the main character was female and with the name of the book a [...]

    8. 4.5 - I'll need a reread to give it a full 5Let me start with something the author herself writes at the end of the book:"Despite all the vampire literature available out there it's not so hard to come out with a novel concept. All you have to do is discard adolescents, drop steamy sex scenes and not have your vampires come from Transylvania"She may make it sound easier that it is, but the result was totally amazing! As you may have by now realized if you're looking for the hot, almighty, sex-god [...]

    9. The Little Council has kept vampires out of Romania for five centuries. For reasons unknown, the Prime Minister has invited Maximilien Hess, a thousand-year-old vampire onto Romanian soil. Liana Cantacuzino, of the Little Council, has been tasked with keeping an eye on the vampire, an assignment she is not thrilled about. There are a lot of vampire stories in the market place. This series is definitely a refreshing and original take on the subject manner. The Impaler Legacy Omnibus is a fast pace [...]

    10. As far as I’m concerned, I loved ‘The Impaler Legacy‘ by Ioana Visan from the very Beginning.I have read almost all novellas and short story from this series, and if Ioana decides to write more, I would definitely read everything she writes.I really love Liana, Jesse and Max and, I’m not ready to let them go. It would be great to see more of them, and not just of them, more of Ioana’s book too. What I appreciate most to this series is that this story it’s not about a foolish vampire-h [...]

    11. This is the Impaler Legacy series in one book. I enjoy these characters especially Liana and Maximillian. While I know Liana loves Jesse, I kept hoping Max and she would hook up. They are very evenly matched. As they try to stop the rise of the New Vampire coming out of New Zealand they both learn how to compromise and work together for the common good. I liked how Liana became less antagonistic towards Max since her bodyguard became a vampire while trying to protect her. I also liked how each s [...]

    12. Glad to have been able to re-read all the short stories under one cover. Plus had the chance to read the new addition to the stories. It was a great Addition to the storyline, A great night on the town while everyone recoups from the battle that took place. And some messing with Max to lighten things up. Can't wait to see where the story goes with Max's "Lady Friend vampire"

    13. *** 3.5 stars ***'The Impaler Legacy' is a great read with a brand new concept of vampires and those opposed to them played out from the prospective of the narrator Liana, a member of the Little Council descended from Romanian nobility.I always delighted when there is a female protagonist in stories, and i was further drawn by an interesting new concept in vampire lore. This was an interesting read. I struggled a little with the first book in the series, for a couple of reasons really, most esse [...]

    14. I received this book in exchange for a review. I had already read the first book. This book continued with Liana hunting for vampires. She leaves her home of Romania (a vampire free zone) to search for the source of the new breed of vampires. This is different kind of vampire story. The main character doesn't fall for the vampire. In fact, she is supposed to kill all vampires.I enjoyed the book. It is definitely worth reading. There are a few errors that need editing but it isn't bad. I could al [...]

    15. I'm a big fan of vampire sagas. This one had a more adult take. No teenage love story here. A love story in the book, yes, but a much more realistic love story. And not between a human and a vampire, but between two humans. It made for a nice twist. It was also nice to see humans and vampires working together against an evil force. It was a very good read and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I would definitely recommend it for any vampire lovers.

    16. A fresh take on vampire tales. Certainly not what I was expecting when I first started reading it, but a more than welcome deference from the usual vampire stories that I'm used to. If you love vampires, but are tired of the same old take, this is definitely the book for you! The imagery presented is fantastic. This is a well written and cohesive book. I look forward to reading more by Ioana Visan!*I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

    17. I truly enjoyed reading The Impaler Legacy Omnibus. This series had me wanting to read from the first chapter in book 1 through to the last book. Most series seem to lose me early on, but this one stayed with the original story throughout. Easy to follow. The paranormal aspect is written well and well thought out. I loved the storyline. The characters were a great combination of personalities. This is a series that is a must add to your tbr list. Recommended read.

    18. The Impaler’s Revenge★★★☆☆* I liked the intro, which did a good job showing instead of telling to introduce the world. There was just enough hinting at plot points to get me curious.* I really liked Liana, who was tough not stupid about accepting help* The interaction between Liana and the vampire was great. They both come across as pretty cool people and their banter made the book fun* There were a number of typos I felt should have been cleaned up by the time a book is being republ [...]

    19. I got this in a giveaway a while ago (and due to a particularly crappy ereader it took me a while to read). I'm a long time fan of vampire stories and to have one from a Romanian author made me happy. The omnibus, as I understand it, is a couple novels and interconnecting short stories, fitting together to tell the story of Liana Cantacuzino's world. Liana is part of the Little Council of Romania, charged with keeping Romania vampire-free. She works with her pandurs (more heavily trained fighter [...]

    20. Liana has a past associated with vampires. But it's no surprise considering her role in Romania is to keep the vampires out and the humans safe. But when a vampire is allowed on Romanian grounds without a death sentence, things become very fishyThe first book opens up with Liana welcoming a vampire into her home country, one that prides itself with having no vampires. She must ignore the urge to kill on site because Max has diplomatic immunity. But the news Max brings isn't very good. And while [...]

    21. First. I received this book in return for my honest opinion. That being said . My opinion was that this series was just OK You are dropped right into the middle of someone's life and then you get to pick up parts and pieces here and there but honestly it took me almost 21chapters to figure out what in the heck was going on and I kept waiting for a flashback so I can get some help! The characters are good, setting and story all right. I found it slightly amusing that the vampire hunting dog was n [...]

    22. I received a copy of this book from the author and I must say I enjoyed it thoroughly. Even if the first story has some gaps, the story develops in the next pages, the relation between Liana and Max grows, there is travel abroad, a new species of vampires, a plan concocted by some powerful ancient vampires. Both characters grow as well, we learn more about Max, their closeness gives sparks as they find themselves more than onces under threat.
