    1. Surprisingly, this one drew me in much faster, despite starting with the more common scene of h/h meeting. It's shorter and faster paced than the previous one (I read this morning), but while in that way perhaps more conventional it is still a more entertaining read. Georgi envying Everhart his various eyebrow moves simply was endearing.I'm not sure if I have the damnest luck in chosing books or if it's yet another coincidence, but like A Lady's Deception, this book also features temporary blind [...]

Georgianna Beverly, 'Georgi', meets Lord Everhart for the first time while on top of a statue in a parish yard; she is cleaning it. Everhart, a confirmed bachelor (aren't they all?), has inherited some local land and is on his way to inspect it.
