    1. LOVED this series. Perhaps it's my draw to all things Elizabethan England. Or to adventures on the High-Seas. But I think the real reason I adore this trilogy so much is the rich, multi-generational family saga that unfolds per book. Walter, James, and Mary each have unique stories filled with coming-of-age wonder, horror, romance, and tests, all of which showcase the love, honor, and strength that beats in their hearts.
