    1. I would like to thank Simon & Schuster Canada for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review!Actual Rating: 3.5 Rated Up The first thing about Overdrive that caught my eye, wasn’t the cover surprisingly. It was the fact that it has been compared to films like Gone in 60 Seconds and The Fast & The Furious franchise. The Fast & The Furious films are actually one of my favourite things, like ever, so the fact that Overdrive has been compared to them instan [...]

    2. Perhaps I’ll write a review once I stop singing 'Tokyo Drift' by the Teriyaki Boyz. But who knows when that will be because I could probably sing this song for eternity. 🏎💨🎶I wonder if you knowHow they live in TokyoIf you seen it then you mean itThen you know you have to go.Fast and furious! 5. Full Review can be found at thegraduatedbookwormFirst I want to say thank-you to Simon and Schuster Canada for sending me an ARC copy of this to review. At first I wasn't 100% sure if I would like this based on the fact that it's about boosting cars and what not. Well let me tell you I am glad to have read this because it was AMAZING!!From the beginning you can tell that Jules has had to grow up and become an adult for herself and for Emma way too early on. Although she has found a way for incom [...]

    6. Well I got this book from my local library around a month ago, and only just got around to reading it. I didn't expect much, but it was actually pretty enjoyable. The writing flowed nicely, and the pace was just right; it didn't lag at all and kept me entertained the entire time. The only drawback was the excessive swearing. It was a bit off putting at times, but overall, the book was well written, and a good way to pass a few hours. 3.5 stars

    7. *A copy of this book was provided to me by Simon & Schuster Canada*YA fast in the furious.Full review: alexatalksbooks/20

    8. Cute and adventurous. If you like the television show Leverage, this may be up your alley. To state the obvious, cars also play a major role in the story, so car enthusiasts will also appreciate this.

    9. Overdrive starts with Jules bent over, hotwiring a car she is planning to steal, while her boyfriend has his hand up her shirt and down her pants. Not a great first impression and it doesn't get much better from there.Jules, also known as "Ghost" among the car thieves of Vegas, gets caught by the police. As a result, her foster family decides to get rid of her and her little sister, Emma. Although Jules claims to just be stealing cars as a way to earn money so she can keep Emma with her when the [...]

    10. 4.5 stars!Let me start off by saying that this story is very similar to the movie Gone in Sixty Seconds, one of my favorite movies EVER! When Gone in Sixty Seconds first came out, I watched it constantly. Like daily. I've seen it at least 20 times from beginning to end, probably more like 50 since it used to just be playing in the background while I did other things. I don't know why I loved it so much, but I just did. So aside from my love of Dawn Ius and her awesome writing, I also knew I HAD [...]

    11. Any book that claims to be similar to Heist Society is an immediate must read for me, and this book sounded fantastic. While it did not live up to my adoration of Heist Society, Overdrive is an exciting novel of car chases, stakeouts, cool gadgets, family, friendship and romance.Four teens are brought together in a foster home. But their rich and eccentric foster parent doesn't plan on providing a roof and food for nothing. He has hand-picked these four teens to help him track down and steal sev [...]

    12. I received an ARC of this book from Chapters/Indigo Home Office in exchange for an honest review. For what was suppose to be a high-octane, action packed thriller, I found myself to be really bored while reading it. It was dull, predictable, and slow. It was weirdly paced - it felt like it just jumped into the car stealing plot line too fast in the beginning, and then it dragged on leading to the actual car stealing - which lost its momentum because 7 cars is a lot, and it seemed like none of th [...]

    13. Dawn Ius's Overdrive is a fast-paced, thrilling read that pulls you into a world of rare muscle cars and the heist of a lifetime. When the police catch Jules stealing a car, instead of being charged with theft, she's given a second chance. Roger Montgomery, a wealthy philanthropist, has a soft spot for teens and is willing to welcome both Jules and her younger sister, Emma, to his mansion. But it's not until Jules meets the three other teens staying in Roger's home that she realizes Roger has ga [...]

    14. A fabulous cross between Gone in Sixty Seconds, The Fast & the Furious, and every feelgood family movie out there that explores unconditional love. Not only is it an entertaining novel, but it's a smart novel--And it kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. The characters are also so likable that you can't help but root for them even when you know what they're doing is 'bad'. Yes, this is for readers of YA, but it's also an excellent read for adults. I highly recommend this to eve [...]

    15. Actual rating: 3.5.A fun, YA Fast and Furious, peopled by teens and starring a female lead. Rarely surprising, but it's an engaging, quick read, the girls in it have agency and power, and the story of an accidentally family being constructed is an appealing one. Thanks to Simon and Schuster and NetGalley for the ARC!

    16. Fast and exhilarating :) The writing is stellar, and the voice superb. The ending is perhaps the weakest spot, but this is still a GREAT ride of a book. Fast & Furious with teens!

    17. To begin Overdrive, the protagonist Jules Parish is notorious for constantly stealing cars, as she is given the nickname “Ghost”. When she was a little girl, her parents left her and her little sister Emma to be thrown into foster care. Jules takes on the responsibility of acting as her sister’s “mother figure” by going through whatever means necessary to support the two of them financially. One day, Jules gets caught attempting to steal a car and she lands in jail. To her benefit, the [...]

    18. 3.5(Blurb)Roger Montgomery wanted the seven cars so as to complete the collection of muscle cars in the Trophy Case, in time for his 25th wedding anniversary. His wife, who died in a car crash many years ago, loved muscle cars and was the one who opened the Trophy Case.Julia wanted money and a stable life for her younger sister, Emma. Nick also wanted money. Chelsea wanted a spot in Harvard. Mat wanted to find his biological parents. Roger was able to fulfil their wants, and a deal was struck. To [...]

    19. I chose to read this book for my Young Adult Literature class and I can tell you that after I stopped being surprised by all the swearing I thought that the story line was really good. I fell like since this book could interest both boys and girls because it deals with so many different things. Because of all the swearing I would maybe hand it to a kid no younger than a senior in high school.I would not use this book in my classroom because of all the swearing but because of the backstory of Rog [...]

    20. This book is mainly about a girl and her younger sister. They were put into foster care early in their lives, and the older sister has been boosting cars to get by. They are taken in by an eccentric millionaire, and the older sister is offered the opportunity of a lifetime to boost seven of the world's rarest cars. She and 3 other teenagers embark on this journey that could either have great rewards or none at all. It is very fast paced and adventurous and the author showed a real knowledge of c [...]

    21. Some parts were interesting and unique, but it started to get old eventually. I didn't ever wonder if I wanted to finish it. It at least held my attention, but I would have enjoyed spending that five hours on one of my other books much better. I'm not opposed to or offended by swearing in books, but right from the beginning I thought it was overkill. I don't enjoy movies where there is so much swearing there's hardly any plot, or it takes away from the plot, and it's the same for books. Only whe [...]

    22. 17 year-old Jules lives in foster care with her younger sister in Las Vegas. Also known as the Ghost, she steals cars to earn money to get out of foster care & support her sister. Roger Montgomery, a local millionaire, takes in Jules, Emma & three other teenagers to have them steal cars for his collection. I found the plot preposterous & the f bombs overwhelming.

    23. The characters are amazing and I can easily relate to the main character. The story is amazing and the ending was very unpredictable to where they found the last car and I never would have guessed where of was.

    24. I would have liked more action out of this. I'm not sure who to sell it to. I'd love for the boys to read something like this, but I think they'll lose interest in the feelings side of things.

    25. This book was a great mix between girly and tough. Sorry for that awful common vocabulary:/ On and off book for me, but overall was a interesting read.

    26. This review was originally posted on Latte Nights Reviews. When I read the synopsis for this book, I had to have it! By the time I started reading, I had forgotten what it was about, but didn't dare read the synopsis again as I wanted to be surprised. Let me tell you, as soon as I started reading I was hooked! I literally read this in one sitting. I couldn't stop!Jules has stolen lots of cars and has never been caught. People call her Ghost for a reason. It isn't until on night that she gets cau [...]

    27. Jules and her younger sister Emma have been abandoned by their parents and are bouncing through the foster system. As a way to make money and stay responsible for her sister, Jules steals cars. After getting caught, she is given one last chance with the foster system and outside of jail. Roger has taken in a collection of teenagers, all of whom have sketchy pasts. While Emma begs Jules to stay on the straight and narrow (heck, Jules would like to keep her nose clean too), Roger black mails the t [...]

    28. Review:Thank you so much to Simon & Schuster for sending me an advanced copy of this novel in exchange for my honest opinion.Wow is all I can say. This novel is fast-paced, smart and enjoyable. The characters are real, filled with real-life problems and troubles with family and friends. The relationships between them are not only a love one but finding a family and becoming one as well.As a car lover myself, this book was perfect. A group of fostered teens is sent on an impossible mission-fi [...]
