    3. A beautiful, haunting, charming and eclectic tribute to an author whose work I am now very interested in. There are so many gems in here, I'm not going to bother calling any out. Magnificently curated. Definitely worth reading if you love comics, literature, horror, autobio, and/or Shirley Jackson!

    4. My wife got me this "for no reason" as is inscribed by her on the inside. The actual reason is that I am a fan of Shirley Jackson's work, obviously. Seventeen different artists illustrate an equal number of Ms. Jackson's stories in this book. It helps you to absorb what is being put across in those frames if you are familiar with the stories but it isn't necessary - the black and white cartoons are entertaining in their own cartoon way.     5. This book gets five stars for existing, basically. Shirley Jackson forever! Thanks so much to Kelsey for getting this for me at Short Run! Some of these comics are really great, some are just OK, but I love the idea of a collection of comics inspired and adapted from an author I love. Definitely worth a look.

    6. A must have for Jackson completists! It made me want to read more of her work (and reread other stories) as well as the recent biography. And what more can you ask of a tribute project? Read some of her work beforehand so you can appreciate the humor, the poignancy and the domestic horror of these portraits.
