    1. Abridged from the Howard Pyle original, I bought this for my nephew in the hopes that it will stir the same interest the legends have always had on me. So of course I had to read it!

    2. I think this is a good book because it takes a long time to read which means you get to enjoy it for a long time and it has a lot of suspense. This book is sometimes funny. I knew the story of Robin Hood before reading this book, but I learned about how he became an outlaw. This is a great book. (Cash)Hayes also read this book in September 2010 and gives it 5 stars.

    3. This was a great starting book for my 10-year old daughter—we read it together, and took turns reading it aloud. Classic Starts not only provided at great start to these fun, witty, smart Adventures of Robin Hood, it also opened the window to the world of great literature while my daughter practiced the skills of reading aloud, analyzing the story and increasing her reading proficiency. I am very pleased with the storytelling, it stayed true to the tales I know with solid writing. A good examp [...]

    4. The Adventures of Robin Hood. John Burrows (2005). The Adventures of Robin Hood is a classic hero story. The book retells the story of Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men plundering from a rich and mean King to give to the poor. The book recounts many adventures from how Robin Hood meets Little John to his excellent archery skill. There is a story of how his archery skills are put on display when he is in disguise. There are also stories about his many run-ins with the bad Sheriff of Nottingham [...]

    5. The Classic Starts version of The Adventures of Robin Hood was an interesting read. It is a chapter book, whose titles may help struggling readers with re-reading skills, re-telling skills, and more. This classic was easy to read and kept my attention. What I appreciated the most out of this story was that those who are familiar with the tales of Robin Hood, consider him to be a hero. This book, however, paints him and his band of merry men as heroes with flaws. These men do not always do the ri [...]

    6. Read this to my son, age 7, as bedtime stories. It was so good; we both really enjoyed it. So far, this has been our favorite of the Classic Starts Series. It really has made me want to read the original work. As soon as we finished, we followed up with viewings of the Walt Disney animated version and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (my favorite movie in 1991). The latter was a bit too much for my son in some places (like all the scenes with the witch, and the torture), so we had to fast-forward t [...]

    7. Read in conjunction with Story of the World, Vol. II.We read about 2/3 of this before deciding we "got the point." The stories were heavy on fight first/ask questions later then recruit a member of the band. (And my daughter isn't really "in" to this type of action.) I was interested to note that it was not at all clear that he and his band "robbed from the rich to give to the poor" which is about the only thing I knew about Robin Hood besides green/bows/arrows. He was definitely robbing from th [...]

    8. One day Robin goes into Sherwood forrest and meets three men who underestimate him. They think he isn't very good at archery so they bet him to shoot a deer. Robin kills it but then the men realize it was one of the kings deer. One tried to turn him in but Robin got scared and killed him. Robin meets his right hand man, Little John on a bridge. They battle with wooden clubs and Little John easily wins. He does sly things like winning a golden arrow while in disquise and dresses as a butcher to c [...]

    9. The book "The Adventures of Robin Hood" by John Burrows is a book about Robin Hood and his adventures. Robin Hood is an outlaw of the Sherwood Forest who takes money from whoever passes the bridge that they are near. He is a ruthless outlaw who takes money from the rich, middle class, and even the poor. Due to his sneakiness, he never gets caught. In my opinion, this was one of the best stories I have ever read. It is a pretty easy book, it is incredibly detailed, and the events in the book are [...]

    10. The book The adventures of Robin Hood by John Burrows tells the story Of robin hood signing up for a bow an arrow contest. My favorite part of the book was when adam showed every body up like he was a good archery man or something. But the first time he did the archery thing the arrow split in half and I thought that was like the second best part of the book because that is funny. I would recommend to somebody you is little and who likes bows. This book was little easy for me because I read it s [...]

    11. Robin Hood was a fantastic book. I loved it so much I would recommend it to anyone that loves a good adventure book. I don't think that there was anything wrong with this book except for, a little lack of action. A great book and I loved it. The story line was about an outlaw that steals money and goods from the wealthy people that go through the Sherwood Forest, outside of the city of Nottingham, to give to the poor. The famous folk hero of coarse had a nemesis, no one ever remembers his name p [...]

    12. It's okay. The chapters are short for children. It's somewhat different from some of the movie versions I've seen. Guy of Gisbourne is no nobleman, only an outlaw. Robin Hood is the hero and is true to what you see in the movies. He gathers his band of men together and each chapter is a vignette of how he meets one of his men or how they help someone. I've got to read some of the other versions.

    13. This book was a very interesting and adventurous book. It was about an interesting outlawed person called Robin Hood. In this book Robin and his men went around helping people and gained new men. Robin hood was excellent at archery and lived in sherwood forest. Overall this book was a very good book and I suggest it to everyone.

    14. Had to read this book for work. Was perfect for the young boys I am working with, with just enough action to keep them interested. I liked it too, and made a curriculum out of it, and will continue to use it with all the young guys at our children's centre. I think I will check out the other abridged classic stories from this series.

    15. Good stories. Watched the 1991 Robin Hood and the Prince of Theives aftwards. Certainly doesn't follow the story guidelines of the original stories. A set of interesting stories, definitely liked inclusion in the original book about the friends of Robin from a race of people that originally inhabited Great Britain. Pretty bloody but it was medieval England.

    16. I loved the story of Robin Hood, how he robbed from the rich and gave to the poor. I loved his character and the character of Little John.I loved the scene when Robin was carrying Friar Tuck across the stream and they ended up in a fight!

    17. This is a fantastic book because it is very interesting and always keeps you wondering what would happen next. Robin Hood and his men steal from the rich and give to the poor. Follow Robin Hood as he avoids being caught by the

    18. Nandini's Review about the book.::::Very Funny , Very Helpful , Very Brave and Liked by the most. These are the characteristics of Robin Hood , The protagonist of the story . I liked the story and was amazed that how a person could have such a characteristics in him

    19. The Adventures of Robin Hood was a great story indeed, it was very fun to read, and in fact I think it is one of the best books I have read from Classic Starts! This book was sometimes funny. I would recommend this book to everyone who likes adventure and action.

    20. This is a great book great book i love it so much. I highly recommend everyone to read it because its a wonderful book. When i started i felt like i couldn't stop and after i finish i just wish there was a part two to the book.

    21. I thought that the book carried along an interesting plot which is what I liked. As the main character in the book, Robin Hood had done a great job on making the book, as one of my favorite books I've read.

    22. من الشخصيات التي لا تنساها ابدا روبن هود الذي يسرق من الاغنياء اللذين جمعوا مالهم من الظلم و يقدمه للفقراءاللص النبيل الذي ظهر متنكرا في اكثر من رواية
